Description
Texas Tech Utilities Section is hiring for the position of Instrumentation Foreman. Applicants for this position will be responsible for coordinating activities associated with instrumentation and controls needs for boilers, refrigeration chillers, and associated machinery operations in the production and distribution of manufactured utilities supporting the Texas Tech University campus, Health Sciences Center and University Medical Center. Work will primarily consist of planning and organizing of work of journeyman in an assigned trade, the development of material and labor estimates for proposed work, as well as the assigned trade shop budget, inventories, procedures and policies. Skills
Working knowledge and ability to safely perform skills of industrial electrical and electronics field. Working knowledge of operation and safe use of all power and hand tools/equipment common to the electrical field to include: the proper use of meters (volt, ohm, wiggy) and volt recorders. Working knowledge of the National Electric Code. Proficiency in interpretation of blueprints and schematics.

Notes
Seven or more years skilled work experience in instrumentation for pressure steam generating boilers, turbines, and large air conditioning equipment including supervisory experience. Associate degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology may be substituted year for year for overall experience, excluding supervisory. This is a security sensitive level II position - applications for this position will be subject to a police records check and drug screening.
